Guatemala
Water Project - 2007
This
is a project of the Florence and Eugene Southtowne clubs, partnering with
the Guatemala Sur club. The project purchases water purification
systems consisting of a cleanable ceramic filter in two five gallon containers
(see photo at left). Each unit costs $50.
We
have donated $500 towards the project. With the new district matching
formula, our $500 is matched 150% by the district and 200% by Rotary International,
making our $500 contribution into $2250. That will buy water systems
for 45 families.
