Located on America's Wild Rivers Coast in beautiful southern Oregon, Port Orford is a unique fishing village with a population of 1200 - the oldest townsite on the Oregon coast (incorporated in 1851) and the most westerly city in the contiguous United States. It is one of the most scenic spots on the west coast. Here you can walk on sandy beaches, watch whales, fish in the pristine waters of the Elk and Sixes Rivers, climb the tallest lighthouse on the Oregon coast, visit the former Coast Guard lifeboat station (now a museum), hike trails on bluffs and headlands overlooking the Pacific Ocean, windsurf on two lakes or the ocean, relive the skirmish that gives Battle Rock its name, and climb Humbug Mountain. A short drive away, there is world-class golfing, or jet boat tours of the famous Rogue River. Local Information:
